I just finished re-reading this and discovered, to my delight, that it improves with every reading. "Strong Poison" is an odd combination of murder mystery and romance. Lord Peter does very little real detecting and shares so much time with the other characters that he comes dangerously close to being a secondary character. The ladies of the Cattery get almost as much air time as he! No matter; "Strong Poison" is a treat from beginning to end. Intelligent, well-written, witty, and so much more, it rightly helped ensconce Ms. Sayers as one of the great writers of detective fiction. I highly recommend it.
